How safe are you on Facebook?

Facebook, the popular multi-billion social networking site, has been known to have had some security issues in the past, which brings us to the question "How safe are you on Facebook?" Well, that ultimately depends on you. Facebook has many security features and options that are available for use - even with that you aren't completely protected but it does help. I personally use Facebook and I have made good use of the privacy features, not everybody can see all of my information and some pictures aren't available. It's not only Facebook, this applies to all social networking sites MySpace, Twitter, etc. It's always smart to use the privacy features offered to you so not everyone has access to your profile and information.
It is important to protect your information because anybody from anywhere in the world could be viewing personal information about you such as your age and location. There are a lot of "strange" people out there who are very interested in your personal information, either for their personal use or to use for their companies. It's also not a good idea to befriend strangers you don't know because they aren't always what they claim to be. An innocent girl or guy who acts as your friend can be a 40 year old man or even older
trying to meet you in person or get your information.

All in all, be careful who you decide to give your information too and make good use of the privacy options available to you, they're there for a reason.
